Back glass is the most misordered pane on any vehicle, and the fleet around Quinton makes that harder rather than easier, because a lot of what we work on out here has been kept going for years and has been through more than one owner. A heated back window carries printed elements and, on plenty of vehicles, the radio antenna as well, with connection tabs in specific places. A pane from a different trim level or a different model year can sit in the aperture perfectly and leave you with no demist in November and no reception at all. On a pickup, whether the rear window has a sliding centre panel changes the part outright; on a wagon or an SUV, so does the wiper spindle hole.
So all of that is established before anything is ordered, from the year, make, model and trim, and from the VIN when there is a camera, a heated element or a sensor involved. The fitting then follows the usual discipline: the aperture cleaned back properly, old urethane trimmed rather than gouged where the glass is bonded, every cube cleared out of the load area and the spare wheel well, the connections made and the heater actually tested before the vehicle goes anywhere. Damp, salt-laden air off the meadows does old bonded apertures no favours, so if there is corrosion under the seal we will show it to you rather than glaze straight over the top of it.

For a tempered rear window held in a channel, well under an hour plus clean-out.
